Zombie Diagnostics

     So I was thinking...
...this is normally where anyone who actually knows me would find a very convincing reason to leave the room.  Luckily for me, you are a captive audience (or at least I hope so I paid good money for some guy to ensure that was the case).  Well, no matter.  Here it goes.

So, the one way to kill a zombie according to most mythology is by damaging the brain i.e. a blow to the head.  So if someone dies because of a blow to the head (say gunshot wound, axe blade to the brain, or a tragic accident involving a cartoon character and a falling anvil, safe, or piano) will they, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, become the walking, shuffling, or crawling dead?

I bet you didn't think of that, did you?

Let's think about this rationally.  Or as rationally as we can be when discussing a subject such as the living dead.  If they already have damage to the brain they should not be able to rise from the grave.  If they could then every zombie that gets killed would then be able to be re-re-animated.  Is that even a word? So I propose that those who died from a brain injury can not become reanimated regardless of the initial cause of the zombie invasion.

Now like any good scientist I am going to begin conducting some experiments.  I'll let you know about the results.  Or maybe you'll already know as I am considering you as one of my subjects.  Sleep tight.
